Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The questions listed below are the most frequently asked
questions about our Elective Ultimate 3D/4D Ultrasound Experience at Baby Bump ~ Baby’s
Bungalow. Should you have any questions that are not answered below, please
call Bridget at (716) 692-3D4D (3343) or email Bridget at

Do I need an appointment?
Yes, appointments are necessary
for all of our services. Call
(716) 692-3D4D (3343) to schedule an appointment. We do offer same day appointments
as well (if we are not already booked that day).
Who will be performing my 3D/4D Ultrasound? Is she qualified to perform this ultrasound?
The most important thing to remember is to ask who is performing your ultrasound! At Baby Bump~Baby's Bungalow, we are ADAMANT on ONLY employing Certified & Registered Ultrasonographer's to perform ALL of our Ultrasound Packages (not just the Gender Determination Package). Baby Bump~Baby's Bungalow does not recommend leaving your 3D/4D Ultrasound Experience in the "hands" of a non-certified, non-registered ultrasonographer or a "faux ultrasonographer" (A "faux-ultrasonographer" is someone who has NO official ultrasound schooling, training or working experience in the medical ultrasound profession).Ask us! We will gladly show you our Certifications and Registrations that we have worked so hard to achieve!
Are you able to tell the gender/sex of the baby?
Yes, as early as 14 weeks gestation. Within my 14 years of ultrasound experience, I have a 100% accuracy rate at determining fetal gender. Amazingly, that is greater than 10,000 babies! Yes it is true, sometimes the baby's gender cannot be seen at 14 weeks, usually due to the baby's position or the angle of the mother's uterus, but I am confident that with my experience, determination and passion for the ultrasound field, I will be able to determine the gender of your baby on your first visit!
What if I don’t want to know the gender/sex of the baby? Can
I keep it a secret?
Don’t worry your secret is SAFE with me! I will however
recommend less scanning of the fetal genital region, just in case you have an
overzealous friend, in-law, aunt or Hubby who just cant wait and tries to steal
a peek.
What is the difference between 3D and 4D ultrasound?
In essence, 4D is 3D in motion. 4D imaging was so named when
it became possible to use ultrasound to obtain 3-Dimensional images in motion,
as real time live-action videos. The 4th dimension is time. 3D ultrasound uses the same technology
as basic 2D ultrasound except that multiple angles are used, rendering a 3D
image. 4D rendering occurs many times per second, giving a video effect.
How much does it cost?
Please refer to our Ultrasound Pricing tab for available
packages. ** Ultrasound Packages are subject to NYS sales tax at 8% (Niagara
County)**
We accept Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Debit Cards and Flexible
Spending Account Cards for our Licensed Massage Therapy.
Is Babys Bungalow Ultrasounds covered by Insurance?
No. Elective
ultrasound procedures are currently not covered by health insurance companies.
Does this take the place of an Ultrasound at my doctor's
office?
No. Babys
Bungalow adheres to strict policies that correlate with the AIUM and FDA
standards of practice, and it is not appropriate to do a limited elective scan
if an early or complete diagnostic scan has not already taken place.
***A woman seeking an elective prenatal 3D 4D ultrasound
with Babys Bungalow must already be receiving treatment with a healthcare
provider for prenatal care and have already undergone a medical, diagnostic
Ultrasound ordered by their provider to confirm their due date, screen for
early fetal anomalies, and to look for any other pregnancy related issues.
Baby's Bungalow requires that all clients have documentation of their medical
diagnostic ultrasound and/ or first trimester NT/NB Screening results. We DO
NOT perform medical ultrasounds. However if we are suspicious of a possible
abnormality your doctor will be notified.***
How far along should I be before I have a 4D Ultrasound?
If you plan on having only one 3D/4D Ultrasound examination,
we would recommend having the examination performed between the 28th and 32nd
week of the pregnancy. We schedule sessions up thru the end of the 36th week.
We can never guarantee the quality or number of images
obtained. The ability to produce higher quality 3D images tends to go down past
the 36th week due to the fetal head presentation engaging into the lower pelvic
canal, the large size of the baby, amniotic fluid volume going down, and other
factors, such as the placenta, create a difficult canvas to work with. I will
say though, if the conditions are right, the pictures will be spectacular!
Can I bring my family and friends?
Absolutely yes! Please bring whomever you would like to
share this wonderful experience with. Babies and children are also always
welcome at our facility, after all this is meant to be a family experience. We
can comfortably accommodate 8 people on our luxurious leather sofas. More than
8 guests may come with you but this gives you a general idea of the amount of
seating in the room. We can work to accommodate others. Our seating is
specifically arranged so that everyone in your party will have an excellent view
of our large 50" flat screen TV and the 4D images of the baby. **Dont
forget to ask about our Sono-Live Technology. This is our Internet streaming
service for family and friends that live far away or cannot attend the session
with you.
Will I always get a beautiful picture of my baby?
Usually, however if the baby is persistently facing down
(towards your spine), or snuggling into the placenta it may be difficult to see
the baby's face. Amniotic fluid volume (Amount of amniotic fluid surrounding
the baby) also greatly affects visualization and quality of the images.
First we will try repositioning the Mom, ask her to walk
around, etc. to see if we can obtain a better position. If we are unable to
obtain images during the session, we will schedule a repeat scan on a weekday
at the earliest convenience to the patient and within scheduling guidelines of
Babys Bungalow to try and obtain an optimal image.
At Baby Bump ~ Babys Bungalow we cannot guarantee that the images will
be similar to those you might have seen elsewhere or even look similar to other
images produced at our facility. Remember that we are at the babys mercy. We
will always try to meet your expectations but we cannot guarantee that the baby
or the conditions surrounding the baby will allow us. Every baby and every
mother-to-be scans differently. I
can say though, that I promise to make every effort to obtain the best possible
images of whatever parts of the baby that can be seen!
What can I do to help Baby Bump ~ Babys Bungalow achieve the Ultimate
3D/4D Experience for me?
1. Please make sure you have had an early diagnostic or
complete diagnostic ultrasound through the guidance of your healthcare provider
before coming to an appointment with Babys Bungalow.
2. Bring a copy of your diagnostic ultrasound picture and/or
report from your early or complete diagnostic scan that we will place in your
file.
3. Drink plenty of fluids throughout your pregnancy and
especially 2 days leading up to your scheduled Ultrasound Session. This allows
the baby and Mom-To-Be effectively produce more amniotic fluid, which in turn
increases the likelihood of better quality images.
4. Arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled session to
complete our forms.
How long does the 4D Ultrasound take?
Depending on the session you choose, the 4D Ultrasound
session will last between 15 minutes to an hour. Please allow extra time for you to complete forms and for us
to finalize your DVD and print your photos. (What a great time to browse
through our boutique)
What kind of Ultrasound equipment do you use to perform the
4D Ultrasounds?
We use the GE Voluson 730 Expert to complete all Ultrasound examinations. Our
equipment has been seen in GE television commercials and many printed articles
from around the world. This machine is the best 2D, 3D and 4D Ultrasound
machine available.
Only the GE equipment generates 3D images with amazing
clarity and gives you the same clarity with 4D imagery of your baby in motion.
Is 2D, 3D & 4D ultrasound safe? Are there any risks to
my baby or myself?
Routine scanning of all pregnancies is not only the norm in
the United States; it is considered the Standard of Care. Studies extending
over 30 years have found that ultrasound has NOT been shown to cause any harm
to mother or baby.
